The Village Church and Community Centre

This new-build project was client-led by the Presbyterian Church, the congregation and the community.

The new church and community centre constructed during this project replaced the much-loved St Giles Hall at Papanui, which was damaged in the Christchurch earthquakes of 2010-2011. The hall was frequently hired out for activities such as dancing, table tennis and community events.

As the work site was off a very busy main road, Papanui Road, it required very careful traffic management to ensure road-user and public safety. Despite the constrained site and high traffic volumes, the project was delivered without incident.
