Rhodes Abbeyfield House Wigram

Following on from our successful Abbeyfield House Hornby design-and-build project in 2015, Abbeyfield engaged our company not only to design and construct this second, larger project but to source a suitable site west of the central city. The modern, single-storey home on a 2171 sqm site was built after the Rhodes Trust residential facility at Cashmere was demolished after the Christchurch earthquakes. Abbeyfield Wigram was the manager of the new facility.

Providing affordable, supported housing for 14 older residents, this project had its own set of criteria and deliverables. Along with studio units for each resident and the housekeeper, the home comprised large common dining and living areas and gardens.
